Three visionary directors (Michel Gondry, Leos Carax and Bong Joon-ho) and my favorite city. This has got to be good.

The Good, The Bad, The Weird

This has got to be one of the best shootout flick in recent years. Wonderful character development, explosive action adventure scenes and great cinematography. What more could you ask for? Oh, the soundtrack is awesome too!

Star Trek 2009

Posted by: darkchyld on: November 19, 2008

Directed by J.J. Abrams. Geekiness has never seem so cool before. The cast is amazing as well, come on what could be better than Sylar(Heroes) in the mop-top hairstyle.  Look out for this sometime in August 2009. As usual HD version of the trailer is available here

The Spirit

This Christmas, watch out for The Spirit. Directed by Frank Miller this movie is going to be a blast. The HD trailer can be found here.

Control by Anton Corbijn

Posted by: darkchyld on: October 25, 2008

Brilliant film about the wonderfully talented but tragically short lived life of the lead singer of Joy Division, Ian Curtis. Directed by Anton Corbijn, this evocative biopic was beautifully shot in black and white. There is even a photobook where you can be mesmerized by the amazing cinematography of this film of a tragic genius.

Sukiyaki Western Django

Posted by: darkchyld on: September 26, 2008

Upcoming film release directed by famous Japanese auteur Takashi Miike about some samurai cowboy featuring Quentin Tarantino. With Miike on the helm surely you would know what is about to come. This movie is going to be pumping your adrenaline with it’s surreal kinetic action. There will be blood if you get what I mean. [...]

But that's Tokyo! Write-up on the event here and a bunch of tips on shooting gigs: http://japanorama.co.uk/2009/11/07/shooting-music-the-simones/ Nikon D300 Nikkor 85mm f […]

  • Letter to a Young Photographer…. November 9, 2009
Lectured last week at the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism. In the photojournalism department, the students all had that traditional mix of energy, enthusiasm, angst, and doubt so typical of that time in your life when you have just picked up a camera and are looking at it, wondering where it will lead you. • SITE MOVE. July 18, 2009
I'm torn to say that To Darrin Hudson will be shutting down.I've made the decision to move everything to a centralized www.stapledesign.com website. The new Staple Design website will encompass my blog, my Twitter Feed, the Design Studio, the Clothing Collection, Reed Space, Reed Pages...basically the whole Staple Universe! So while I have loved To […]
